Step 1:
Now you need to determine the front from the rear of the top panel. To do so, measure to the distance from the edge of the panel to the center line of the tab. The Front distance measure 1.125”. See picture 1. Once this is identified you can begin assembling the front, and side panels.

Step 2:
Locate 1 front, 1 side and the appropriate nuts and bolts for assembly. Align these panels’ tabs with the top panels tab. Top panel tab to the inside, front panel tab center and side panel tab on the outside. See picture 2. Using the 3/4” bolt and nut, finger tighten these panels together. Nut secures on the outside of side panel tab.

Step 3:
Now again using the 3/4” bolts and nut finger tighten the bottom tabs for the side and front panels. Front panel tab to the inside, side tab on the outside. Nut secures on the outside. See picture 3. Repeat this step for the rear of the guard as well.

Step 4:
Repeat Step 2 & 3 for the opposite side panel.

Step 5:
To Install the active rear panel you will need 2 1.5” bolts and 4 nuts. Align the rear panel tabs with the top panel’s tabs. Rear tabs to the inside, top panel center, side panel tab to the outside. See picture 5. Thread 1.5” bolt through tabs putting 1 nut in between the top and side panel to allow for pivoting motion. Finger tighten another nut on the outside of the side panel tab to secure. Repeat for the opposite side. Std. spacing between the top and rear is 1.5” to allow for smooth pivoting.

Step 6:
Once the bolts are all loosely attached you can now go back and securely tighten them with a socket wrench. See picture 6

Step 7:
Now that you have the cage assembled you can now move on to attaching the guard to the base.
Holes to attach the pivots and shoes are predrilled in the base for easy installation. Front of the base is located where the funnel outlets, as indicated in picture 7.

Step 8:
First attach ONE pivot to the base by aligning holes with flat edge of pivot to the outside and the slanted edge facing in toward the wall. Pivots are mounted to the front of the base.
From the underside of the base attached 1 long washer bracket and 2 - 1 5/16” bolts. Secure the bolts at the top of the base with 2 - 5/16” nuts. As seen in picture 8.

Step 9:
Now install both shoes to the rear of the base. Place the shoes over the predrilled holes so the lock hasp faces out with the guards hasp.
This time attach the small washer and 2 - 1 5/16” bolts moving from the underside up and attaching the nuts at the top. Repeat for the other side. As seen in picture 9.

Step 10:
After the 1 pivot and 2 shoes are fastened to the base, lay it down so you can begin attaching the guard.
Grab the assembled guard and slip the pin through the 5/8” hole on the front of the ac guard, allowing it to rest on the shoes. As seen in picture 10.
The rear of the guard should fit smoothly inside the shoes protecting plate.

Step 11:
Finally you will move to attaching the last pivot. First slip the pivot pin through the guards’ receiver hole. Place the guard on the base and line up pivot holes. Place the guard on the base and line up pivot holes.
Tilt the guard and base to the rear so that you can attach the pivot. Repeat step 7.
Air Guard is now assembled.
