AC CONDENSER GUARDS:

  1. Manufacturer: All Weather Steel Products Salt Lake City Utah
Model Air Guard 400 or approved equal
(All substitution must be approved at least 10 days prior to bid date.)

  2. Master Frame:

  3. Master frame constructed of 16 gauge 1.00 x 1.00 G90 galvanized tubing.  16 gauge steel galvanized angle is also welded to the master frame, providing a secure stop for attachment of the expanded metal.  This addition is made prior to cutting, at no less than 6” centers.

  4. Members are then welded into a 4-sided configuration to create (1) front panel (2) side panels (1) top panel and (1) swinging rear panel.

  5. Each 4-sided panel is then ground at all existing corners to improve appearance.

  6. Expanded Metal:

    1. Hot dipped #14 x 1/2 galvanized flattened expanded metal.

    2. Insert in master frame assembly attach with spot welds at 5” centers (no exposed welds allowed).

  7. Mullion:

    1. 1 x 2.5 16 gauge galvanized steel.  This shall be bent at two 90 degrees angles to create a C section.

    2. Mullion is then welded at each end of the guards top, side, and vertical members. Additional mullion is to be added to the top panel when guard depth exceeds 54”.

  8. Hardware:

    1. (2) Padlock receiving shoes are inserted into the pad at the guards lower rear bottom intersection.  These shoes have a preformed tab with a hole to receive padlock and also a pre-drilled hole at the shoes base to receive a fastener as a result being attached to the pad.  (All (6) concrete fasteners and (2) padlocks to be provided by the contractor). Shoes are formed from 14 gauge galvanized steel sheet.

    2. (2) 3/16” steel formed pivots are created to form one shape, which include a base of no less than 4 1/2” long.  Pre-drilled base pivots to receive (2) fasteners for anchoring to pad.  The vertical side section of pivot to include a 1/2 x 2” long round steel shaft which inserts into pre-drilled holes at the guards front lower member.

    3. (6) Fasteners 5/16 x 3/4 hex nut and bolt are furnished to assemble top, sides and front panels forming a 5-sided rectangular assembled unit.

  9. Finish:

    1. All galvanized parts are then treated with a high pressure phosphate treatment.  The prepared surface is then powder coated and baked at a temperature of 450 degrees for a minimum of 20 minutes.  This baked powder coating provides long lasting protection from rust and the effects of weather.

  10. Quick Bolt Assembly:

    1. 1” x 1 1/2” x 14 ga. Steel tabs are welded to each panel.  This allows the front, top and side panels to be bolted together at each corner with 3/4 x 5/16 hex bolts and nuts. This six bolt mount creates a very rigid construction while allowing for quick assembly and disassembly.  There are no exposed fasteners on the exterior of the condenser guards

EQUIPMENT BASE:

The base is manufactured from Linear Low Density Polyethylene for Superior impact resistance, even at sub-zero temperatures. Included in the resin is a UV12 additive that protects against oxidation and other harmful elements. Light Stable Pigments are also compounded into the resin to ensure long lasting vibrant color that will not fade, smear or rub off. For easy maintenance a slip agent is used in the resin making even spray paint possible to clean off.

Numerous support columns are engineered into the product for increased stability and rigidity. This allows the base to support a large capacity without experiencing any deflection. The hollow design allows the user to fill the base with concrete, water, sand, etc., thus increasing the weight and maximizing security. The base features a stakes hole for added protection against theft and/or weather elements. The rain gutters allow for water drainage that could otherwise be harmful to the air conditioning unit the base is preformed to accept a mount of the air Guard 400 condenser cage. Standard base color is Beige Granite, with optional colors available upon request.
